I saw this used [...]. I couldn't find it in my local grocery stores(no surprise there). After reading everyone's reviews here, I ordered it and its great!
I use it in a salad with grape tomatoes, basil and a balsamic olive oil dressing.
I used the Farro to make a salad from recipe by Gilda on food network. I could not find the product anywhere locally, so I went to the internet and it was so easy to order from i gourmet. Thanks
I bought Farro in Italy and brought it home. This was just as good and cheaper.
Great for both soup and salad.

this grain is great, I did not know of its italian origin. i use it in my middle eastern cooking. it makes a great stuffing for turkey when precooked (half way) because it retains its texure. my favorite recipe for it is as follows
1 cup of Farro(soak for about 10 minutes before using)
1 cup of long grain rice
3 & 1/2 cups of chicken stock divided
1 med onion emulsified
2 tbs butter
salt & pepper to taste.
Melt butter add onion and saute for about 3 minutes add the faro and 2 cups of the chicken stock. bring to a boil then reduce heat to med. and simmer till all water is absorbed. Add the rice and the remaining chicken stock and bring to boil again then let simmer till all water is absorbed again. Let sit covered (do not remove the cover) to let it steam for about 15 minutes. Fluff with a fork and enjoy. tastes great with garlic & Olive oil tomato sauce.

Farro seems to be hard to find in the supermarket. I was happy to find a place that I could order it from. I found a good recipe for it and it was enjoyed by all.

I have to say I was very happy with this farro. It has a delightful nutty taste with a nice firm texture after cooking. It is a grain, so I didn?t feel as guilty after eating it, like I would with a carb such as rice. Serve the cooked farro with a simple mix of seeded tomatoes cut small, and some red onion diced. Top with a basic vinaigrette of balsamic or sherry vinegar, extra virgin olive oil, minced fresh garlic, a touch of dijon mustard, salt and pepper. Mix well, and enjoy. Serve room temp! So delicious!
delicious, organic, healthy, good base to build on for creative sides or whole plate meal. Good texture after cooking, serve hot or cold.

I enjoy trying good flavourful grains. I am always on the lookout for the "different" I certainly found it in Farro. I used this item as a side dish for a starch and got rave reviews from my very finicky family! It can be eaten hot or cold and would be good with a vegetable mix too. The texture is good and not mushy after cooking. The taste is exceptional. A great source of protein too.
