On a remote black sand beach, farmers harvest natural sea salt under the swaying coconut palms. Sea water is evaporated in covered vessels under the tropical sun to reveal a unique white salt of exceptionally pure and simple flavor. The production of premium sea salt takes time and attention to detail. Each small batch of sea salt requires weeks of hand panning and grading to produce the perfect grain. Bali Tree Farms' quality is a testimonial to the artisan nature of this age-old craft.

Earth, wind, fire and water join to create a natural union that determines the unique crystal character of each salt grain. In Balinese, kechil means young or small. Coarse Kechil refers to the smaller coarse grains that appear during periods of hot mornings and rainy afternoons.

Big Tree Farms' Handcrafted Balinese Sea Salts are available packaged in recycled paper boxes. Each box is hand-made locally with all printing being done on recycled paper. The boxes come complete with a photo journey of the salt making process.
