The most popular chile in the U.S., the jalapeno is named after the capital of Veracruz (Jalapa) in Mexico. These smooth, dark green chiles become red when left on the vine and range from hot to very hot (spicy, but not searing). In their dried form, jalapenos are known as chipotles. Our Green Jalapeno Powder is great sprinkled on popcorn, for salsas, sauces, and marinades, or to spice up dull tortilla chips.
