Mauritius, with Reunion Island and Rodrigues, forms a part of the Mascarene Archipelago in the South Indian Ocean. This island has a long history of farming sugar cane. The Dutch brought sugar cane from Batavia in 1639. By 1696, sugar was being manufactured in Mauritius. Sugar production and processing increased under French, then British rule. Today, 46% of the land is cultivated with 93% of that being sugar cane. Fields and fields of sugar canes gently sway in the sun drenched tropical breezes.

Sugar produced from sugar cane simply tastes better. We offer white sugar cubes (naturally refined sugar) or brown sugar cubes (naturally refined sugar with molasses). If you like a touch of sweetness with your favorite cup of tea or coffee, give it a boost with the flavor of all natural cane sugar.

Varieties sold separately.

Comments about La Medina Sugar Cubes:

Had this served along with tea in Ireland, finally found it here. This is not your normal sugar cube as the molasses adds a totally different element of taste. I think it brings out the flavor of fine teas.
