A secret family recipe kept under lock and key by Grandma Jones until long after she arrived on the shores of the United States from Ireland in the early 1900's. This unique blend of sugar, spices, and peppers has finally been introduced to the public by two of her descendants living in Pennsylvania. Made in the traditional manner with sugar and fruit pectin, Grandma Jones' jam also contains vinegar, diced green peppers, and crushed red pepper flakes. This surprising combination of sweet, sour, and hot makes a spunky party spread for cheese and crackers. It can also be used as a fat-free dip for vegetable crudités, shrimp cocktail, or chicken fingers. Creative cooks can use it as a marinade for chicken, beef or pork; may also be used as a last-minute glaze for salmon.

    My daughter in law turned me on to pepper jam, believe it or not I had never heard of it before. So far I have used it on crackers with cream cheese. I do plan on trying it on chicken and ham or pork chops. I think it would make almost any kind of meat taste even better.

    Although it would have been outstanding if a bit hotter in taste, it did just fine poured over a block of room temperature cream cheese and served with crackers and veggies. It is certainly handy and a quick way to entertain company with something quite unique and different tasting.

    I spread the traditional flavor on crackers, but I use the Caribbean Mango dip for eggrolls, fried shrimp, chicken strips, etc. It is far superior to the usual sweet & sour sauce.

    This Pepper Jam isn't just for eating with cream cheese and crackers! It is so much more! In addition to casual snacking it is an ingredient everyone has to have in their kitchen! The recipes in the company's cookbook are fantastic and I highly recommend it! Ribs and chicken never tasted so good!
