These figs are great by themselves as a healthy snack, but make an excellent addition to a cheese and fruit tray for a picnic. Also made a fantastic fig sauce to accompany a bleu cheese souffle.
Comments about Baked Figs from Calabria:
Very simple cooked figs, box too small though.
Comments about Baked Figs from Calabria:
Of the texture preserved figs should be - slightly chewy exteriors with moist, not quite gooey insides. Is the slightly licorice aftertaste innate to Dottato figs or one the unspecified added natural flavors listed on the package? If you like figs or licorice, you'll enjoy these.

So good you will not want to share. Best ate outside of Italy. Perfect hostess gift for party or dinner.

I served this as an after dinner treat with coffee and nuts, as we have for generations on Christmas.

Comments about Baked Figs from Calabria:
For years, Calabrian friends have sent us figs stuffed with almonds. Based on the outstanding flavor of those figs and almonds, I decided to try these figs. What a disappointment. These figs aren't even sweet, and the almonds are tasteless. The figs included in the packages look like the rejects of the fig crops at my friends' house.
This product is overpriced and in no way does it reflect the quality of the figs that Calabria is famous for. I will never buy them again.

Delicious little figs with a delicate orange flavor with the added bonus of an almond inside. A nice way to end a meal - just a little touch of sweetness.
