100% raw & organic, Lehua Honey is light-colored with a creamy texture, floral aroma, and subtle palate with butterscotch notes. Gathered by bees from the lehua flower, which grows on the ‘ohi'a tree and is native to Hawaii, Lehua Honey is only found three months a year. It is a local Hawaiian favorite that is unfiltered, pure, 100% raw, certified organic Hawaiian honey.

Interestingly, because of its unique geographic location, Hawaii is the only state in the U.S. that produces certified organic honey commercially. None of the Royal Hawaiian Honey hives have experienced Colony Collapse Disorder, and are healthy and thriving in part because the bees don't feed on flowers that are sprayed with herbicides or pesticides. This is honey the way nature intended it.

Lehua Honey is proud to carry the Carbon Free (TM) seal. This ensures that all carbon emissions generated in the production and shipping of the honey is calculated and off-set by investing reforestation, renewable energy and energy efficiency projects. This is part of a continuing commitment to sustainable farming.

Royal Hawaiian Honey is an artisanal honey produced on Hawaii's Big Island by a family farm. The beekeeper's daughter, Rebeca, markets and sells her father's honeys.

  • Certified organic by the Hawaii Organic Farmer's Association and the USDA.

Comments about Organic Hawaiian Lehua Honey:

Some of the honey was crystalized. The effect on the taste of the tea was metalic and no better than regular store bought honey. There is nothing special about this. Black Sage honey is better, as is the white hawaiian honey. I would rather pay the extra for the white or pay less for the black sage type. I am using it up just to use it up.
