For 9,000 years we have been collecting honey from the honeybee. Known as the "nectar of the gods" by the Greeks, this was the only sweetener for people of antiquity. igourmet represents over 30 unique types of honey from around the globe. Our repertoire of artisinal honeys have unique regional flavors, consistency, and can be used in various ways. We have chosen three pure honeys (Girasole Honey, Forest Honey and Wild Oaks Honey) for this collection that contain different characteristics to meet the needs of any gourmand.
  • Girasole Honey by IL Forteto: A creamy sunflower honey from Mugello, Tuscany. (1.1 lb.)
  • Forest Honey by Langnese: Langnese has reigned as Europe's premium honey since 1927. Their Forest Honey embodies the flavors of the Bavarian black forest. One taste and you'll recognize its silky, luxurious quality. (1.1 lb.)
  • Wild Oak Honey: An organic honey produced by The Valls family of Catlonia, Spain. A thick (but pourable) honey flavored by the flowering wild oaks in the area. This dark colored nectar is rich, floral, and caramelly. (1.1 lb.)

Comments about Collection of Pure Honey:

My tongue absolutely loved the delicate flavors in these honeys. The Patagonia honey was so thick it was almost like sugar, but had a smooth sweetness on bread. I found the rich taste of the wild oak reminding me of the scents of spring flowers in the forest. The flavor of the Tuscan sunflower honey was pure sunshine, and my absolute favorite. I experimented with these by having them with my mountain gorgonzola and the different tastes each one brought out of the combination was sinful.
