Greece conjures up thoughts of blue skies, warm weather, festive dancing, and great food.
  • Barrel-Aged Feta is produced from December through April from a blend of all natural sheep and goat's milk taken from free-ranging herds. By the end of the four month aging period, a wonderfully creamy, rich, complex flavor is fully developed. (8 oz.)
  • Manouri is essentially a sheep's milk "cream cheese", made by adding sheep's milk cream to the whey from the feta production. Try some with Glazed Figs. It's fantastic! (8 oz.)
  • Kasseri is made from a careful blend of 75% sheep's and 25% goat's milk in Greece. (8 oz.)
  • Kardoula Peppers Stuffed with Feta: Called Kardoula, which means "little heart", these peppers have a mildly spicy flavor that is an excellent match with the cool, creamy taste of classic Greek Feta cheese. (6.35 oz.)
  • Mixed Greek Olives are a delightful medley of textures and flavors, from sharp and meaty to voluptuously soft and fruity olives. (6.36 oz.)
  • Kriti Olive Oil Toasts: The bakers of Crete are known throughout Europe for their delicious olive oil toasts. Made from freshly milled flour and Crete's famous extra virgin olive oil, this traditional recipe has been passed down from generation to generation (5 oz.)
  • Stuffed Grape Leaves (Dolma) are soft and tender grape leaves, stuffed with rice and onions, fresh dill, and mint. (7 oz.)
  • Glazed and Roasted Figs are a perfect dessert served alone or with your favorite Greek cheese. Spoon over ice cream or yogurt or serve the figs as a complement to grilled meats and poultry. (9 oz.)
  • Mt. Vikos Taverna Meze: Meze is Greek for appetizer or small plates of food. Traditionally, several different dishes are served at the beginning of a meal or when friends get together. Authentic recipes, all natural ingredients, and big flavors (7oz.)
  • This basket comes in a sturdy pine crate, handmade in Maine.
  • Please note that any item temporarily out of stock will be substituted with a similar item of equal value.

I would prefer having a decision if there is substitution in the arrangement. I prefer to know what i am paying for ESP when it is a gift.

Comments about Greek Classic Gift Basket:

The gift basket itself was great. Sadly, they lost/forgot the accompanying card, so the friend who I bought the (very expensive) gift basket for had NO IDEA who had sent it, or why they had even received it in the first place. It really took all the fun out of sending the gift when I had to call and ask whether she had received it after a week of silence, and tell her the basket was from me. Not ensuring the card and accompanying sentiment was attached to the gift is completely unacceptable and ruined a precious moment. I won't be using i-gourmet again.

A nice selection. I got this for my folks (we used to live in Athens). It was a nice variety that we enjoyed together and it brought back memories of living and eating in Greece.

Comments about Greek Classic Gift Basket:

Each year for Christmas I order a different international cheese gift basket. This particular cheese/gift basket was perfect for the "Greek" theme that I was looking for in this item. If you're looking for truly Greek flavor, I highly recommend this basket.
