Cheese and Honey are a spectacular combination. We have chosen three contrasting cheeses of flavor and texture that complement Savannah Bee Co.'s superb-looking honeycomb. An impressive conversation piece at your next party. Perfect for dessert!
  • Each Oro Antico Riserva is handcrafted by the master cheesemaker at IL Forteto. He selects a young, delicious, authentic Pecorino Toscano, burnishes it with olive oil and ages it in a stone cellar for six months. During aging, more olive oil is rubbed on the rind as the cheese gets harder and tangier. The flavor of this 100% ewe's milk cheese delicately resinates on the back of your tongue, imparting overtures of wild herbs and lemon grass. (1/2 lb.)
  • Mountain Gorgonzola: Another ancient blue, this one hails from northern Italy. It has a firm, yet springy texture and a mellow bite that melts in your mouth. (1/2 lb.)
  • Manouri is an ancient Greek cheese made from a combination of feta whey and sheep's milk cream. Moist and malleable, Manouri is soft and buttery, with a unique lemony aftertaste. (1/2 lb.)
  • Our irresistible Savannah Bee Co.'s 4” x 4” square of sealed honeycomb is absolutely beautiful. Made from pure Georgia honey, it is delicious on its own or place a slice on top of your cheese and discover another dimension of nature's nectar. (12 oz.)
  • This collection comes complete with an end grain acacia wood cheeseboard. Dimensions: 15”x8”x.25”.

Great selection of new cheeses
By CarlaVerified Reviewer from Pittsburgh, PA on 10/10/2007
Pros:
Flavorful, Sweet
Best Uses:
After Dinner, Dessert
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I always liked honey with fresh or aged goat cheeses, but these three cheeses were pretty new to me. I've had gorgonzola in restaurants, but never as a sweet dessert with honey. These were all good cheeses to have with honey, but the sheep's milk cheese was my favorite of the bunch. And the Georgia honeycomb is the best ever!
