The wild boar has been hunted for food, for sport or to protect crops against their ravages since the days of the cave men. In the Middle Ages boar hunting with spears and dogs was a royal sport and the serving of a boar's head at the Christmas feast in Merry England was a holdover of a much older pagan rite at the time of the winter solstice. This specialty bacon is simply sumptuous, with a rich flavor and a heady aroma. Perfect for an exotic Sunday brunch with leek scrambled eggs and brioche toast.

Comments about Wild Boar Bacon:

I loved this bacon. This is my second time purchasing it and It was better then I remembered. It had a lovely smokey flavor but that didn't overpower the speical taste of the wild boar which was sweet, meaty and complex. I made some for breakfast with poached eggs and rice. Very good. I should save the bacon fat but alas I didn't this time.

Comments about Wild Boar Bacon:

Whether lightly cooked, or well-cooked, it's flavor remains. Although, if you let it cook for a long period of time, it will get crunchier. I love me some crunchy bacon! More bacon, please!

Comments about Wild Boar Bacon:

While overall a good product, I'm not sure I would buy the Wild Boar Bacon again. As someone above mentioned, the bacon has a sweet and unique flavor which is quite pleasant. Unfortunately, I found the slices to be a bit too thin for my taste making it difficult to cook the bacon without it wasting away into nothing. If it were only twice as thick...

Also, to the person who cooked their eggs in the drippings from the bacon - that is the best use I've found for this product!

We got this as a part of the bacon sampler. It was, by far, the star of the sampler. My kids (even the picky one) adore it.

Comments about Wild Boar Bacon:

this bacon was a major treat for us. I try to avoid using bacon because of the fat and nitrates. When I bought this, on impulse, I was amazed at the taste texture and all around great quality. Blt's made with this heiloom tomatoes and fresh from the farm butter lettuce, took us to heaven! The best part is, while with alot of bacon about the only taste is salty, this is so packed with flavor, a little goes a long way!

Comments about Wild Boar Bacon:

This bacon has a great flavor to it that's unlike any other bacon I've tried. It's not overly gamey, but it tastes slightly sweet with an almost bourbon flavor to the meat. I fried my eggs in the leftover fat afterwards and it was a great way to spend Sunday morning.

Cons:
Bad Value, Low Quality

No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Wild Boar Bacon:

Although described as having almost no fat, both packages we received were at least 2/3 fat. I won't buy this again.
