Finally, Americans can enjoy one of the true culinary treasures of Spain! Chorizo is excellent in stews, potages, omelets, paellas, or served as part of a tapas. It makes a statement, with a flavor so powerful that it does not influence a dish subtly. Available in regular or hot. Varieties sold separately.

This is a wonderful sausage. NOT like Chorizo you might find locally. Full of flavor with a spicy kick but not too spicy. Fantastic with a piece of good cheese or a chunk of crusty bread and a glass of wine.
this was very good but I expected more spice, it was a bit bland, but still had a nice flavor.but then again I'm not a big chorizo person, just wanted to try it.
This is a fantastic product. Better than the best Italian salami in my opinion. I know as I have spent many $$$$ buying salami as I love them. This is wonderful sausage. Spicy, flavorful, lingering, and fantastic with many things such as wines, breads, etc. You must buy one and make your own decision.
Tastes great, with no preservatives, just like old fashioned Spanish chorizo recipes. Thanks!
This chorizo is so good. I use it in many different ways. As hors d'oeuvres, in tapas, or simply to flavor the broth of soups, also to cook navy beans (favada) or even in my paella.
I love sausage and salami but years of healthy habits now make a lot of it seem overly salty, and this was quite fatty too.
I lived in Spain for a couple of years and this is the closest tha I have found to the REAL thing.
This was great served as an Hors d'oeuvre.
great, authentic flavors. this is all about balance.
Great for Tapas, with a simple plate of cheese, also terrific added to an omelette.
Added slices to chili. Even after removing outer casing and simmering in chili, pieces were still a bit chewy. Might be better to cut each slice in half or into quarters. Have had Mexican chorizo - this Spanish chorizo was definetly milder and had a different texture. Also purchased picante version of the Spanish chorizo but have not tasted yet. Maybe I'll like that one better.
Goes great with rice and beans.

We used this chorizo in hashbrowns to spice them up! Mix in with onions, shallots, potatoes, and cheese! It is awesome!
Cook with just about anything..great on it's own.
nice product to add spice and depth to other plain dishes
Excellent chorizo, better than you can find in any market here in southern california which has a large spanish population. As good as home made here.
This was so much better than store bought. This was the real deal! Very versatile and just spicy enough.

My wife and I would never ever order this product again. The taste and smell were way over the top...unpleasantly earthy. Guess our taste buds have been used to appreciating the American version of Chorizo.
Use to add flavor to maranara, or brown and wild rice. Perfectly seasoned. Great with scrambled eggs. We buy several pounds at a time, found last batch to be inconsistant however, overly chewy ingredients not sure if its the casing or what, not happy.
I have purchased this product twice [...] and I have been quite pleased on both occasions. The first time, I included it in a hearty chili recipe (yes, chili with chorizo!) and the flavor permeated through the dish and MADE it! I will purchase this again and again...
Great taste, better than my homemade version.
"palacious", so much better than anything you cand find in the marketplace .
Wonderful authentic flavor, with a slight hint of fire. Can be used in many dishes.
This Spanish chorizo is hard to find in the US since the government or USDA began overly protective requirements which also ban French "sauccison sec" pork sausage from the US market. Somehow the folks at iGourmet people found a way to sneak it through - congratulations! The flavor is strong, not hot; a textbook chorizo de lomo as we used to call them here.
After having this fabulous chorizo at a wine bar, I was hankering to get some and decided to try this one [...]. It's authentic tasting, a little on the salty side but not what I would have liked. In all fairness, I was yearning for the one that I had at the wine bar, so I should try to find the same instead.
HAVING TRIED COUNTLESS CHORIZOS HERE AND ABROAD, THIS ONE IS THE FIRST I HAVE TASTED STATESIDE THAT HAS THE CLASSIC SPANISH FLAVOR. NOT TOO GREASY OR TOO SPICY. PERFECT WITH A DRY RED WINE BEFORE DINNER. THE TIP-OFF THAT THIS SAUSAGE IS WELL MADE THAT EVEN IN SUMMER MID-DAY HEAT THE CUT UP SAUSAGE DOESN'T "SWEAT" ON THE PLATE WHILE WAITING TO BE PRESENTED TO COMPANY.LOVE IT!
Very tasty; great for snacking

I thought this Spanish chorizo was wonderful. It was very full-flavored and had just a bit of a bite, but was definitely not particularly spicy. (My wife, who has a very sensetive palate, thought it was too spicy, but I didn't notice much heat at all.) I had it mixed with pasta and melted gouda for a great "mac and cheese," mixed in with scrambled eggs, and just by itself in thick slices. I have always been more familiar with fresh Mexican chorizo than the cured Spanish style and I was very pleased with the experience.
had initially ordered the regular, but they had run out, so spicy was subsituted. very tasty. would stick to spicy if i were to order again.
authentic...but didn't last long after opened
Quite different from it's Mexican cousins, this chorizo has infinitely more flavor and body. By itself, it can lean towards the "dry and dense", so it's best to utilize it in a dish that will lend moisture to this wonderful product of Spain.
Great with tortilla or scrambled eggs!!!!
unlike many domestic USA chorizos, this product is firm, slices easily, and travels well.
dont waste this chorizo in scrambled eggs.
I'm sure this is very authentic, but having never been to Spain I found this chorizo a bit odd. It's very hard, it has giant lumps of solid fat, and it tastes mostly of paprika. I never figured out quite what to do with it. I could not aquire a taste for eating slices of it plain and it's too hard to add to recipes. It's probably best for those who grew up eating Spanish food.
Easy to work with-great for use in dishes from Spain-especially Paella!!!
Moist, with just enough spicey kick, this is a great sausage. Perfect for snacking or including in a Frittata. Thank goodness the U.S. government finally relaxed it's overly zealous regulations and now allows the import of genuine Chorizo from Spain. This is also a great value
If you know nothing of Iberian cured meats, you can start here at the entry level and will not be disappointed. The smokiness imparted by Spanish paprika (pimenton) sets chorizo apart from other cured meats. Equally adept in lending character to cooked dishes or sliced to nibble on its own. If you care to graduate to a more subtle, nay, sublime product, do not hesitate to pay the price for lomo. Although the commercial brands offered here are not Spain's best, it's what one can get here, which is surely far better than nothing.
great product with tons of flavor. great to be cooked with hash browns and other breakfast items.
First, let me admit that this is only the second time I have ever eaten chorizo. The first was at Jaleo, a tapas bar in Washington, DC, where it was grilled and served with a sauce on a bed of mashed potatoes. I used half a stick in a recipe for Chicken and Chorizo Chili. This was less than 1/3 the amount the recipe called for (3/4 lb. chorizo to 2 lb. ground chicken), but the heavy flavor of the chorizo overpowered everything else in the dish. It's still in the frig, but I will likely be throwing it out. I'm giving this product an average rating because my ignorance of what chorizo should taste like may make me a poor judge of it. I would like to try some other brands and see how they compare.

Thin slice it at a diagonal and serve it with a crusty french bread - nothing else. You can refrigerate it, but always serve it at room temperature to fully enjoy the taste. This is not to be confused with Mexican chorizo. Spanish chorizo is more like a hard italian salami - only much, much better. TRY IT!
