Busseto Dry Salamis have been slowly air-dried and seasoned to perfection. We offer two flavors of these tasty Italian Dry Salamis:
  • Herbes de Provence: With a Gourmet's touch, their Italian Dry salami is gently coated with freshly dried aromatic French herbs. This “secret recipe” is found in the French country-side alongside Champagne and Brie cheese. This is a wonderful snack on its own, or with a dash of mustard. Also makes a great addition to any antipasto.
  • Poivre Moulu: Delicately hand rolled in ground black pepper, the true essence of this flavorful salami is captured when served with warm fresh bread and crumbled blue cheese.
Varieties sold separately.

I've tried the entire Busseto line, and while all are good, I prefer the two offered by iGourmet. Some folks find the spices to be overpowering, but I find that to be a huge positive. The world is FULL of mundane salami. Additionally, the lack of a traditional casing means you just slice and serve. (If you are "special" and can't handle the spices, simply rub some of them off before slicing!) Excellent fare on a plate with cheese, crackers, olives, etc.

I tried them both - the "Herbes de Provence" is the more subtle of the two. The spices are interesting and yield a smooth, almost sweet flavor. The "Poivre Moulu" is a different story. The peppery coating will grab your attention before you savor the rich flavor of the salami. You should try 'em!

I live in a condo complex, we have many impromptu cocktail hours on an 11th floor deck. We like to include snacks with our conversation that all share. I and the guests enjoy the highly seasoned salami. It's also safer when it's warm and humid than egg or cream based snacks.
