Les Trois Petits Cochons started in 1975 as a small charcuterie in the heart of New York's Greenwich Village, where founders Alain Sinturel and Jean Pierre Pradié cooked and offered pâtés and other French specialties to the neighborhood gourmets. They soon received rave reviews by such notables as Craig Clairborne, Mimi Sheraton, James Beard, and others. Once word got out, they began making pâtés for other restaurants around Manhattan. By 1990, demand forced them to expand their operation. Today, they make their pâtés in their kitchen, House of Bricks, located in Wilkes Barre, PA. Les Trois Petits Cochons is recognized for its excellence as a leader in the specialty food business and industry it helped to create. They use all-natural, high quality ingredients, and craft small, handmade batches.
  • Paté de Campagne is the traditional paté of France. Coarsely ground pork meat and pork liver are spiced with onions, garlic, parsley, bay leaves and thyme. The mixture is then slowly cooked in the traditional way. The result: a culinary delight.
  • Paté au Poivre Noir is a spicy country style paté sprinkled with black peppercorns and flavored with a touch of brandy.

These Pates are simply delicious...If someone tells you they do not taste like really french ones, don't believe them because they might have never lived in France for years to know which ones are good! GREAT, GREAT, and DELICIOUS!

This is a delicious pate'. The texture is coarser than some pate's but it is so good that my "not-a foodie" husband loves it. It is perfectly spiced.

Pate de compagne has been a favorite of ours since 1960 when we lived in Paris. It had an authentic taste and you can't beat the price. Merci

IT'S SCARY TO BUY PATE ONLINE. But don't be afraid of these beauties. They came in two days packed beautifully in a keep-cool container and yes, they were still cool. Upon opening the aroma was lovely, no odd smells. Upon knifing into each loaf, there was a dense and meaty feel, and upon plating, you could see the quality. This is MEAT not fat, and the gel is beyond delicious, heavenly. The scent, the taste, the body, all rank high. I've had homemade pate that was not this good. I give it four stars because I would have enjoyed more fat in the mix, but that is very subjective as most people would NOT want more fat. An amazing find and I will order more from this vendor and of course, from IGourmet! Jennifer Trump Ocean Park Washington

The best of its type
By Nickl4Verified Reviewer from Branson on 2/23/2007
Pros:
High Quality
Cons:
THERE ARE NO CONS
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This product is the best of the commercially produced Pates that I have ever had. It was shipped in very fresh condition. I have purchased Tois Conchon products in gourmet food stores but it has been on the shelf too long. That is not a problem with I Gourmet

basic, but satisfying
By el queson from glendale, az on 2/23/2007
Pros:
Good Value
Best Uses:
Canape, Sandwich, Snack
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

While not exceptional, relatively inexpensive and better than most supermarket pates. Tasty enough to keep on hand for a toothsome nibble, perk up a pack-along sandwich, or present at informal gatherings, but probably not quite the thing to dazzle your more finicky friends.

CHUNKY
By HuntsVerified Reviewer from Portland, Oregon on 2/22/2007

Respectfully, I would not purchase again. I do not know what I was expecting other than a smooth texture, more melow pate. The word "chunky" comes to mind. Wanted to use a fork rather than a knife.

Les Trois
By MarthaVerified Reviewer from Chicago, IL on 2/22/2007
Pros:
Good Value, High Quality

I was surprised by the consistency, this is not a spreadable pate that I was thinking about. But my husband LOVES liver and devoured this.
