Les Trois Petits Cochons started in 1975 as a small charcuterie in the heart of New York's Greenwich Village, where founders Alain Sinturel and Jean Pierre Pradié cooked and offered pâtés and other French specialties to the neighborhood gourmets. They soon received rave reviews by such notables as Craig Clairborne, Mimi Sheraton, James Beard, and others. Once word got out, they began making pâtés for other restaurants around Manhattan. By 1990, demand forced them to expand their operation. Today, they make their pâtés in their kitchen, House of Bricks, located in Wilkes-Barre, PA. Les Trois Petits Cochons is recognized for its excellence as a leader in the specialty food business and industry it helped to create. They use all-natural, high quality ingredients, and craft small, handmade batches.

The Three Little Pigs offer a luscious delicacy featuring smoked Atlantic salmon. This creamy pâté is garnished with garden vegetables and seasoned with mushrooms.

Comments about Salmon Pate:

First, this pate is suppose to be made from "smoked" salmon--I don't think so. I even question it being salmon. I ordered this based on the reviews to try and compare to my own. The relatively low-price made me skeptical, but the reviews were tempting so I bought it. In my opinion it would be over-priced even if it was free! Now, I make some absolutely wonderful (heavenly) pates and my friends/guests know it--I couldn't and wouldn't serve this. I thought at first taste I received a bad-batch, but at second taste it wasn't spoiled, it was just bad and very poorly made. I opened it up to try before serving and couldn't help to wonder where in the world or what world those five-star reviewers came from. I had a close friend (a gourmet chef) try it to check to see if I was off-base on my palate and she said she wouldn't feed it to her cat and what she feeds her cat is better (knowing her she probably has tried her cat's food). So, I guess for anyone who thinks this is "the best pate they've ever had" as one reviewer stated, they might check out the cat food in their grocer's pet food section next time.

This pate made a pate lover out of me! This has the ability and texture to dress up or down a cracker. If you want to impress your taste buds and dazzle your dinner partners I highly recommend this.

Comments about Salmon Pate:

This pate is one of a kind. Considering all the big food critics have loved it. I consider it excellent on crackers, maybe even in cooled crepes baked potatoes. Have never had a salmon pate before so this was a first for me. A gourmet treat thats hard to find in Queens, New York. I felt like a real gourmet shopper [...]. Excellent
