Located in:Meats/Seafood, Small Fish
The anchovy is a small, bony, schooling fish that lives in the warm waters of the South Atlantic. Imported from Spain, these hand-filleted flat anchovies are perfect for antipasto and salads. Not overly salted like some others we have experienced, Ortiz brand anchovies have a superbly balanced flavor and a subdued aroma.

these were the best anchovies I've ever had. They were completely whole and firm. They don't break apart getting them out of the jar.

I really enjoyed this product. After receiving the product, I immediately tried two of the anchovies and found them to be simply marvelous. When I next prepared pasta, I am afraid that I ate the remainder of the jar.

Many recipes call for one or two anchovies - cans don't work because you waste what you don't need. These can be used one at a time and kept in the refrigerator until the next time you need an anchovy - and they are plump, full-flavored, and when heated in a sauce literally melt into the sauce. They are the best I have ever used!

We searched high and low for good anchovies - and couldn't find any here in Portland at any price. These anchovies are wonderful - the best I've had in years. Not bony, not too salty or fishy. The perfect, delicious anchovy flavor. Good enough to feature on top of a salad, where the flavor of the anchovy can really be tasted. Worth every penny.
