These succulent, fully-cooked shrimp are imported from Ecuador, where they are first marinated in orange juice and spices, then slowly smoked over hickory wood. Produced by the Ecuadorian company, Costa Maderos, these shrimp are sure to be a delicious success at your next party. If you can get past eating them straight from the bag, they are wonderful in spinach and citrus fruit salads with manchego, on canapes with crème fraiche and microgreens, or tossed on pasta with a peppery cream sauce.

These succulent treats are my secret ingredient for transforming an everyday meal into an instant celebration. Last minute guests? I add the smoked shrimp to my chunky gazpacho or toss them with our "house" salad of romaine, herbs, thinly sliced apple, red onion, and blanched baby green beans.
