This is the Italian version of bologna and is very good. I like the addition of nuts to the loaf. I would buy this again.

The website promised this product to have unique characteristics and it sure did. Much of what we like in food has to do with previous experience. Many people might fine this product just great, so don't take my criticisms to mean that you shouldn't try this product at least once. I, however, found the taste to almost be like a firm liverwurst. I usually like liverwurst, but not this combination of bologna and liverwurst flavor. It took some experimenting, but finally I found the flavor to improve to the quite good level if I heated the Mortadello, e.g., in the microware.
I am sure there are those that will disagree with me, but I definitely prefer the domestic, at the supermarket, product with its whole pastachios and black peppercorns.

This bologna is very good, definitely several steps above the standard deli variety. It is less moist than the type you find in Italy and does not contain peppercorns or pistachios, which add extra flavor. Even so, it will satisfy your craving for quality Mortadella until your next trip to Italy.

I was surprised to see that the package arrived in less time than I expected - for that reason I was worried about its freshness - but the packaging was sturdy and freshness was kept through one of those frozen packs.
