As millions of food lovers know, surf and turf is a main course which combines seafood and meat, usually either lobster tail or shrimp and steak. The term originated on the East coast of the United States where the earliest recorded encounter with the phrase was in a Buffalo, New York steakhouse advertisement in 1967. Other popular variations of the dishes name are “reef and beef” and “steak and tail.” We have created our own exquisite version of the popular Surf and Turf, combining the very best of the what the sea and land have to offer to the gourmet palate.

Representing Turf is 5 pounds of Filet Mignon from Rastelli, one of the unquestioned leaders in supplying premium quality beef to consumers of discerning taste. Their filet mingon offering represents the very best of the best in 100% natural Uruguayan steaks. With perfect marbling and aging, these filets will remind you why it's worth it to buy the real thing. (All Rastelli Natural steaks are blast frozen and individually packaged, preserving their beautiful bright cherry red color. Best if thawed under refrigeration and cooked within 2 days of thawing.)

Representing Surf is 5 pounds of Rock Lobster Tails. Hailing from the warm Caribbean waters, Rock Lobsters (Spiny Lobsters) have no claws but hard shells and very long antennae. They are well known for their plump, juicy tails. Perfect with filet mignon. Take it up a notch and try stuffing the tails with Shrimp or Jumbo lump crab. (You will receive 10 frozen lobster tails, 8 oz. each)

Surf and Turf is the ultimate in dining. Marinate the filet ahead of time with a red-wine-based marinade, and grill it to perfection. The lobster tails are perfect as they are, just add a little butter, garlic, and lemon, and steam or, better, grill them, too. Serve with lemon butter sauce or add a little truffle butter on the side. We also like a bit of Blaze Glaze on the filet. Green asparagus (steamed or caramelized) and brown rice or a baked potato go really well with this meal.
