Introduced last year in Europe to great acclaim, France's famed olive oil specialists have created olive oil that is as spreadable as butter. This patented innovation combines the advantages of healthy Mediterranean diet value of olive oil with the convenience of a butter tub. They are 100% natural and contain no additives, colorants, preservatives, or chemicals. Rich in mono unsaturated fat acids (69%) and with less than 25% of saturated fat, they fit nutritionists' recommendations for proper fat intake. Thanks to the solid texture, achieved through the addition of vegetable monoglycerides, they can replace butter or margarine in cooking. These compact spreads come in convenient “tartiner” style flat plastic containers.

They are shelf stable, but are best kept in the butter case or refrigerator to maintain a solid texture. Serve them on breakfast bagels or anywhere else you use butter or margarine - in an omelette, toasted on crostini, spread on sandwiches instead of mayo, and for sautéeing or frying meats, fish, or vegetables. The garlic/herb spread is soooo great on a rare roast beef sandwich. Also with any deli meat and cheese. Use sparingly, but USE it! Just wonderful.

Read about these in new york times andthey are delicious! Love them on bagels (plain) chicken (basil) fish (lemon) and the garlic one makes awesome garlic bread. Super convenient, tasty and relatively healthy, whats not to like?

This is one of those products that I think most people would never think of, but make perfect sense when you consider the concept. This is a great replacement for mayo on sandwiches, and a healthy replacement for a pat of butter on vegetables. Funny to think of the French inventing a replacement for butter! :-)

I used the herb olive oil on steak before frying. Wonderful aroma and taste. Everyone loved it. I would definately buy this product again. I used the plain olive oil on toast and bagels. Loved it.

This makes a wonderful starting point but is much to overpowering to use alone. When cut with a little butter or olive oil is delecious on toasted french bread, baked potatoes or oven roasted veggies.
