Peri-Peri means "pepper pepper" in Swahili. The specific pepper referred to is the African Bird's Eye Pepper. This fiery pepper is very small and can be found in African and Portuguese cuisine. The pepper was carried back by Portuguese traders to Angola and Mozambique, and then ultimately to Portugal.
Galito's has combined this red hot pepper and packed it with flavor. We offer three distinct flavors: Mild, Hot, and Lemon & Herb. The result is that you just can't get enough!
Use with chicken, beef, pork, vegetables, chili, soup, etc. It can be used as a condiment, marinade, or overall flavor enhancer. Varieties sold separately.

I really liked the sauce however when I got habenero I was hoping for something with some burn and bite to it. But its excellent quality regardless.

I was given a small bottle of peri peri peppers a couple of years ago. The heat was so intense and the flavor so different, that I immediately started searching for more products with this awesome taste! I only found this sauce ... and it seems to only be available here. I use this on everything, and it's replaced my previously favorite Mexican/Chinese hot sauces. This sauce has FLAVOR, first and foremost. You taste the flavor and then the heat comes second and POW! I use this product in Spanish rice, to flavor ground chicken, in beef stew, rubbed on pork tenderloin, on nachos ... and to kick up anything else that needs kickin' !

I first tasted Peri Peri sauce at a local restaurant. The only place I can find it is at igourmet. I primarily use it as a condiment but do add it to soup, eggs and chili. I like it so well I added it to several Christmas baskets for friends and family this year.
