Dulce de Leche is made by blending hot milk, sugar, and vanilla. The milk for this authentic Argentine product comes from cows on a local farm that is used immediately, bypassing the typical tanks, trucks, and storage vats, and preserving the utmost quality. Artisan tradition and modern technology results in an exceptionally flavorful product that is smoother and creamier than other brands. Dulce de Leche is practical, full of nourishment, and can be eaten alone or spread on bread like butter. It is also ideal for filling crepes or as a topping for waffles, fruit or ice cream. It is also a spectacular addition to coffee.

I was asked to write my review because after purchasing 30 jars of dulce de leche in the past three months, this must make me a Dulce de Leche expert. And frankly, I am. Since I was born in Buenos Aires, and Argentina invented this delicious food, I have been eating all kinds and varieties since I was a toddler.'

Eating DDL is one indulgence that I give myself. Why not? It is not unhealthy at all as it is so natural. I keep fit by eating well and exercising; and every morning I look forward to eating my beloved DDL.

One can experiment with it on toast, cakes and pastries. In Argentina it is used precisely in that way, but also as toppings on desserts like FLAN, FRUIT SALAD, RICE PUDDING, BREAD PUDDING, PANCAKES (that are more like French Crepes so we place the DDL inside the crepe), etc. Chocolate with DDL inside, etc. etc. Also we are pioneers in inventing the DULCE DE LECHE ice-cream. Sorry Haagen-Dasz, we have been making this flavour ice-cream WAY before you. Our fine ice-cream shops and parlours report that DDL is one of the favourite flavours chosen by both locals and visitors alike (read tourists from Europe, Asia and the United States as well as Australia and New Zealand).

Well, I recommend this product to anyone and particularly to those affected by Gluten intolerance. Kids will love it and adults too! It is a treat.

Buy it at IGourmet because it arrives safely and very well packed. Also, the price is reasonable (although I wish it were on sale some time soon). The quality of the product is superb.

Argentines like myself always say that blood is not what runs through our veins. It is DULCE DE LECHE. We grow up eating it by the tablespoon (yes, no teaspoon for us). There is not one Argentine who does not like Dulce de Leche. It is good because it is all natural and the best and most natural type comes from Argentina. Some companies in the U.S. i.e Smuckers), is making Dulce de Leche; but upon reading the label on the jar, I came to the realization that it is not the real thing at all because it is loaded with who knows what ( preservatives, additives and the like). True Dulce de Leche is milk, sugar and vanilla. That is all. I eat it with my boring cereal (since I have Celiac my cereal choices are rather limited and plain), as well as with fruit, fruit salad and flan. Besides, eating it on a daily basis brings me back to my beloved Buenos Aires (which I visit at least once a year).

Because in Argentina it is so much a part of our culture, we also make ice-cream, dulce de leche "Alfajores", etc. etc., as well as a specialty type for baking purposes: Dulce de Leche de Reposteria. Since it is not easy to get here in the U.S., I first bake the cake (flour for Celiacs) and then I add my dulce de leche. Try it on chocolate cake or any cake!

I've tried several items labeled dulce de leche from local stores, but they were but pale imitations. This is the real thing, and brought back many childhood memories of Argentina. Dulce de leche on toast. Dulce de leche in crepes. Dulce de leche between the layers of a cake...

Try this on top of your favorite pie also, redi-whip be damned!

excellent way to give coffee an exotic flavor; stir well, it takes a while to dissolve. Some people may think it tastes a bit over-cooked with a faint burnt aftertaste, others will just love it.

I used the above product, in a Banofee Pie, as seen on Paula Deen. It was fabulous. I could skip a step, with the Dulce de Leche already caramel, and finished the pie fast. We all loved it, and since I couldn't find the Dulce de Leche at the store, ordered it online, received it fast, and will order more. THanks!

I first had Dulce de Leche in Uruguay and brought some home from a trip there. It was gone within a week by my family. In looking for a place to buy it here, in America, I found your website and have ordered it on more than one occasion. It is delicious and even though I've found where one can make it themselves, for the price, it is definitely worth buying it online.

I had never had dulce de leche but the description made me jump on the opportunity and ordered 2 bottles. I'm glad I did. It's some of the best stuff I've ever tasted, it's addicting! I have atleast 2 spoonfulls a day now and just lick it off the spoon slowly savoring the taste. Only con I can think of is how your breath is 10-15 minutes after eating it.

I'm surprise to know that the product is not as popular as it is in South America or Europe.
I grew up with Nutella and "Manjar" aka Dulce de
Leche in Chile and I love the many possibilities for its use. It's a wonderful treat!
Try it and enjoy!

If I were on Death Row and was given my last meal, it would include a few jars of this Dulce de Leche - it's that good. You can eat it straight from the jar, spread on bread, or add to any dessert. Delicious!
