Maya Kaimal is a leading authority on Indian food and an award-winning author of two cookbooks: "Curried Favors" and "Savoring the Spice Coast of India". She has appeared on Martha Stewart, the Food Network, and the Today Show, and writes about Indian cooking for "Saveur" and "Food & Wine". Maya Kaimal introduces four fresh, vibrant simmer sauces: Coconut Curry, Tikka Masala, Tamarind Curry, and Vindaloo. These are all-natural, perishable, authentic Indian curry sauces made with only the best ingredients; created for the American kitchen. All you need to do is heat the sauce in a pan with meat or your favorite ingredient, simmer and serve. Each simmer sauce serves four.

Tikka Masala is a classic creamy tomato-based curry, mildly spiced with cinnamon, cardamom and clove. A traditional favorite simmered with chicken and served with rice. Also works well with fish, shrimp or vegetables, or blended with yogurt for a cool dip or spread.

  • Mild heat level
  • Vegetarian
  • Coconut Curry: With this curry, Maya Kaimal brings you the flavors of tropical South India, delicately balancing sweet coconut milk with fresh ginger and fragrant curry leaves. These exotic flavors make a delicious curry with seafood or vegetables, or a tasty marinade for grilled foods.

  • Medium heat level
  • Vegan
  • Vindaloo: This famously hot and sour curry is made with black pepper and coriander from India's spice coast, tempered by tangy tamarind and coconut milk. Always a perfect sauce for beef, pork or lamb, Vindaloo is also great for spicing up tofu and vegetables or burgers and wraps.

  • Spicy heat level
  • Vegan
  • Tamarind Curry: Inspired by the fragrant fish curries of Kerala, this sauce is a zesty blend of sour tamarind and sweet coconut milk with a nice green chili kick. Gently simmer it with seafood or spoon a little into rice before steaming.

  • Medium Heat
  • Vegan
  • Classic Korma is inspired by Maya's father's Korma. This creamy Indian classic is warmly spiced with nutmeg, clove and paprika, and enriched with yogurt and coconut milk. This full-flavored curry works well with chicken or lamb. Spice up tomato soup or brush on grilled seafood.

  • Mild heat level.
  • Vegetarian.

The Vindaloo was very rich, creamy and velvety. I enjoy spicy dishes and would suggest that heat level was more of a 6 out of a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the hottest. Added chickpeas and potatoes and had a great meal. Buy it and enjoy!

I like to simmer it with shrimp, broccoli and chick peas and serve it over rice. Also great to dip naan in! I became hooked and am now having a hard time finding stores that carry it. I suggest making it more available in stores!

This product makes my life easy. It is delicious, healthy and quick. I heat one container in a saucepan to a low boil, add 1lb of uncooked shrimp, 1/3 bag of organic frozen peas and cook until shrimp is cooked, about 5 minutes. I serve this over brown rice and it is a meal in a bowl. It is an easy lunch too. My favorite is the Tamarind and also like Coconut Curry and Korma

Kaimal's Tikka Masala Sauce Is A Winner

Maya Kaimal's product is the traditional goodness found in many Indian restaurants. Kaimal is a noted author on Indian cooking and her sauce reveals a true taste of northern India. I prefer to cube the chicken (I prefer thighs) and marinate over night with one 16 oz jar in a plastic storage zip-type bag. Coarse chop some mint leaves and add to sauce and chicken 4 to 5 minutes prior to removing pan from heat.

Used the Tamarind product on a simple eggplant & chicken recipe. Frankly, it seemed way too easy to be good, but I was in a hurry.

I was shocked at how flavorful it was! Even our exchange student from Hong Kong, a picky eater & severe critic of Asian foods made in the USA, was so impressed that she ate seconds -- even though she said she'd never liked eggplant before.

I have been trying new recipes for so long that I have almost given up. My husband's favorite food is Indian, even if he is from Arkadelphia Arkansas. After much failure I decided to try the sauce. It is easy to do. Taste great. Price is great. I am feeding my husband great food that he loves. It is a win, win situation.

I enjoyed the coconut curry sauce, but I felt that the sauce did not have the exact flavor that I was looking for. Was good on veggies in stir fry.

Excellent taste and easy to use.
One container of Tikka Masala sauce, cut up chicken breasts, onions, potato, celery, carrots cooked until the chicken is done (20 or so minutes)equals an Indian feast! Without the chicken the dish is still incredible and all natural ingredients. We have not found any sauces that come close to Maya Kaimal Fresh Indian Sauces in taste and ease of use.
