The Italian tradition of pasta eating requires just enough sauce to lightly coat the pasta when the two are tossed together. Most Americans, on the other hand, like a hearty layer of sauce covering their noodles. While our smaller jars of tomato-based pasta sauce are perfect for one or two people eating pasta in this manner, they leave families and even some couples a little bit short. Our friends at Vecchia Maremma in Tuscany have been kind enough to jar their magnificent sauces in 700-gram jars, just for us. This Arrabbiata is a plum tomato sauce with a spicy kick. Made entirely by hand in small batches from a family recipe, Vecchia Maremma's are easily the best pasta sauces we have ever tasted out of a jar.
