Hector Sosa and his wife Patria had always dreamt of going into the food business, and their success was almost immediate. At the Silver City Farmers Market in New Mexico, their unique salsa was an instant hit, and persuaded the couple to turn their part-time passion into a full-time profession.
Infusing the flavors of their native Puerto Rico with the classical flavors of salsa, Hector and Patria have created a one of a kind salsa that is sure to tickle your palate. Fresh ingredients and chunky texture form the base, to which lots of garlic and fresh oregano are added. The texture and flavors of this salsa lend themselves to a variety of culinary uses. We have especially enjoyed Salsa Patria atop grilled fish served with mashed plantains, while others prefer it with grilled skirt steak, baked potatoes or huevos rancheros, a classic Central American preparation of eggs.
This salsa is for those that want their tongue to tingle from the flavor in the spices. The level of burn is well above the store brand hot. This one will make your brow sweat and clear your sinuses! This salsa does not contain tomato paste, so you can taste the spices and the fresh veggies.
