The Elizabethan Stillroom was the housekeeper's domain, where she distilled essences and extracted oils from herbs and flowers to flavor her recipes and made the natural lotions and potions for the household. Elizabethan England produces genuine stillroom recipes from the sixteenth century, during which Queen Elizabeth I reigned. Lemon curd, Keylime curd and Raspberry curd are wonderful examples of these products. They are made in small batches, using dairy butter and fresh eggs from the farmer down the road. The Lemon Curd is, perhaps, the best we have tasted, with an intensely lemony flavor that is delicately balanced with the sweetness of sugar and butter. The Keylime and Raspberry Curds are equally delicious. Curds are delicious on toast and scones or used as fillings for cakes and tarts. Varieties sold separately.

Comments about Elizabethan Citrus Curds:

This lemon curd product is intensely lemon flavored. It is smooth spreading, and blends well with your clotted cream on scones. A huge hit.

Comments about Elizabethan Citrus Curds:

The Key Lime Citrus curd was absolutely fantastic. I used it on toasted English Muffins. I would assume that it would taste great on any toasted bread type.

It's only downfall is that it's so good you want to grab a spoon and eat it straight from the jar!

Comments about Elizabethan Citrus Curds:

I like key lime pie but hate graham cracker crust. This is therefore the ideal product for me - it has all the buttery, egg-rich, flavorful tartness of a really good key lime pie filling, but no stale graham cracker crust. Yum!

Comments about Elizabethan Citrus Curds:

My daughter brought Lemon Curd to me in November. She lives in Baltimore, MD and I live in Jackson, TN. She cooked cranberry/orange scones while visiting me, and served it with Lemon Curd and real whipped cream. What a wonderful treat!!Now, the visit is over, and I ordered two jars of lemon curd [...], as the one she brought quickly disappeared. This has so much lemon and lemon zest taste, I find many ways to include this with my breakfast and on treats. I haven't found anything I don't like with Lemon Curd on it!!Thank you for a wonderful product,Annette Fisher
