This golden berry from northern Sweden has been brought to American shores by Halfi of Sweden, using wild Swedish Cloudberries. Also known as the Baked Apple Berry for its burnished, orange-yellow color, Cloudberries are an exclusive Artic delicacy. This extremely creamy preserve has a mild tartness and tastes like a mixture of apples, chestnut honey, cantaloupe, and ends with a mild herbal finish. Its crunchy seeds add a crisp contrast to the richness of the preserve. Beyond breakfast toasts, these cloudberries are a treat served with fresh fruit and whipped cream or as a warm topping on ice cream. For a more traditional treat, use it as a topping for Hushallsost or Vadenost cheeses.

Comments about Wild Cloudberry Preserves:

I have loved cloudberries since I was a child in NORWAY!!! They grew about 3 kilometers from my granmas house in beautiful bogs. We would go and pick them and bring them home to grandma and she would use what was left to fill cakes. These bring back those great memories. [...]

Comments about Wild Cloudberry Preserves:

If you have never ever had cloudberry jam, this is sure to knock your socks off on the first try. The rich, creamy complexity makes it a great treat on fresh bread, in yogurt, on ice cream or waffles. Love it!

Comments about Wild Cloudberry Preserves:

As a Swede I'm very familiar with these berries, since I've picked them myself several times in Sweden.
The use is mostly warm with some kind of dessert/icecream, BUT do you know that these berries taste really good on Västerbotten cheese?
:o)
