Founded in 1972, Dry Creek Vineyard is located in the heart of Dry Creek Valley in Sonoma. Dry Creek Vineyard wines are easy to recognize due to the spirited sailing paintings that appear on each bottle. Sailing, like drinking wine, is fun, adventuresome, and romantic. Each offers a refreshing change of pace from the pressures of mundane reality.
Tasting notes:
The bouquet of this rich, balanced Cabernet Sauvignon shows ripe black cherry and black currant with hints of vanilla and black pepper. On the palate, elegant flavors of ripe black cherry, currant and creamy spice are complimented with hints of dark chocolate.
I purchase, for and every day wine, a four pack of Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi for under [$]. I feel that the Dry Creek was inferior to the Woodbridge. It seemed a bit harsh and short on flavor. Some young wines that are a bit harsh have potential after aging. I did not feel this wine would stand the test of time.
