Crunchy!
Very good, saving my second Turron for a special day, or should I say a few special days? I'd also like the option to purchase turrone from Italy, that one is usually softer and comes in various sizes from bite size to smaller bars.

An Unusual Dessert
I liked this dessert, but only in small amounts since it sits heavy on the stomach. It's very lightly sweet and soaked in a light oil to keep it moist. This means It's not an on-the-go treat but should be served on a plate after careful removal from the box. I'd recommend it to those who like marzipan and nuts without too much sweetness.

El Almendro Turon is the Best!
If you like turon (or almonds and honey), you will love this moist, soft, delicious turon. It's the best one we've tried so far (knowing that my father often travels to Spain and really knows about turon!!) and this one is authentic!

Blando is wonderful
DH is Cuban and grew up with turron on special occasions, and now I am a complete convert. The Blando is a very good turron, sends DH into a serious nostalgia kick. I find it quite wonderful also - best cut up into small pieces and enjoyed after dinner with a really nice port. A little goes a long way.The Duro, according to DH, does not deserve the name "turron" - only the smooth creamy Blando represents this dessert, not the hard crunchy flaky Duro - which is a lot harder to cut and isn't as enjoyable to consume.

Delicious!
I used the Turron Blando as party favors for my spanish-themed holiday party. [...] It was a little bit smaller than expected but that's why I ordered a little bit more. It was a bit oily so cutting them into pieces was a little messy. It was a hit at my party. I got many compliments on how delicious it was. One guest even complained that her grandma stole hers before getting a chance to taste it! It had a nice nutty flavor and was not as soft as I expected. The initial bite is a bit chalky but once you let it roll around in your mouth it's very delightful!

It's just the best! (blando)
my MIL is Cuban, and DH grew up stealing the Turron at holiday dinners, much to MIL's chagrin. The Blando is, apparently, the *only* turron. It is soft and buttery and quite wonderful. As a WASP I enjoyed the Duro also - though it is rather messier than Blando. I love that I can get it for DH's birthday from igourmet, it's only available in the one local cuban market at christmas-time.

What I expected!
I remember turron from my mother's home in Christmas, it was a tradition and I am extremely happy to have found it and been able to have it for my Christmas. It brought so many great memories.

Yum!
I have been a turron "addict" since childhood. The hard (duro) turron is better for younger teeth, nevertheless, I chew carefully to avoid problems and because I can't give up something with such wonderful taste and texture.
