Baita Friuli comes from the Friuli-Venezia region of Giulia, located in northeastern Italy on the Slovenian border. This region is home to Italy's best polenta and San Daniele prosciutto. Baita is a tasty, firm-textured cow's milk cheese, aged for about five months. Rich, fruity, and spicy, Baita's flavor is reminiscent of Swiss Gruyere and wonderful served with pears or chunked in salads.
  • Made from unpasteurized cow's milk.
  • Photo depicts whole 22 lb. form of cheese.
  • We cut and wrap this item by the 1/2 pound.
  • Please contact us if you would like to purchase the whole form.

Very nice
It was smooth and fruity, but very delicious. I was eating it with apples but I enjoyed the cheese so much that I ate all the apples first so I could savor the cheese. Great firm texture. Excellent snack.

Exceptional Cheese
Kind of a hard cheese that is fun to break into small pieces with a knife. It's really rich and very fruity...screams for a good, dry wine

Delicious Cheese!
This cheese was another recommended cheese, and it is delicious too. I would definitely order this variety again.

very good!
Slightly reminiscent of gruyere but milder, less heavy tasting than gruyere. Has a slight trace of fruitiness - maybe - hard to describe but very tasty, good. You'll like it!

Favorite Italian Cheese
Firm, and flavorable, but not granular like Parmesian. Excellent with a white, Rose or Pinot Noir wine.

Love it
A very good cheese. Yes, reminiscent of gruyere but better. Had slivers on a green salad with tomatoes and sliced almonds, good quality oil & vinegar. A must for every order from now on.
