Handmade by Tasia Malakasis and her crew of devoted women, Belle Chevre has been around since 1989. Malakasis, a former marketing exec, fell in love with Belle Chevre goat cheese and came back to Alabama to learn the art of cheesemaking and persuade the owner emeritus to let her be the next generation of Belle Chevre. The cheese is rolled into logs by hand and ages them from ten days to two weeks. This multiple award-winning chevre has been served at the White House, at the base of Mount Everest and on Antarctica. Belle Chevre is an artisan cheese with a taste and texture that reflects the care with which it was made. Enjoy it on French bread or over a toasted bagel.

A very mild chevre
This chevre is very creamy and spreadable and perfect for breakfast. It's got plenty of the right flavor, but it's mild enough for children to enjoy. I believe I will need this on hand as often as possible. I can hardly wait to try it with added herbs and spices.

Wonderful cheese!
This cheese is made locally to me - Elkmont, AL. It is so good! It's definitely our go-to goat cheese. We use it on salads and also in recipes. Creamy and delicious.

Excellent Value
Not the best chevre I've had, but right up there. Very good value, and excellent melted on a white pizza or on pasta.

Heaven On Earth
This cheese is outstanding. We use it in so many ways. From adding to salads & sandwiches, topping a cracker, a steak or just popping into our mouths. Delicious!!!

Not as good as some other chevres
I just found the taste of this to be quite a bit less enticing than many other chevres, such as Fog Light or Chabichou du Poitou. It was a bit banal and run-of-the-mill.

Flavorful
Very good cheese. Love the fact that it's a small company in the US, too. Very full taste- would be really good baked in salad or raviolis, but I enjoyed it simply with crusty bread and melba toast.
