This blue cheese from southeastern France is creamier than Roquefort, due to the fact that it is made from cow's milk rather than sheep's. The terrain near Auvergne is craggy and desolate, and thus, better-suited to raising sheep than cows. Even so, the region manages to produce enough cow's milk to eke out its small annual production of Bleu d'Auvergne. Bleu d'Auvergne is great crumbled on a tossed salad. You can also try a small piece on a slice of apple for a beautiful, healthy midday snack.

Best Bleu so far
I've been searching for this bleu I had in Malta and this just might be it. Creamy but, it has a character that I've never found before. As it ages little crytal like crunch pieces for in the rind. This is a very good thing.

Good but not the best bleu I've had. It has a nice, creamy texture that spreads well. I wouldn't use it for crumbles.

Wonderful bleu cheese
Great French blue (bleu) cheese. One of the old classics like Stilton, and I prefer this. Perfect on a cheese board. Love it.

Melts in your Mouth
Earthy, salty, buttery and mushroom goodness all wrapped in a moist rind. Great with wine, sliced apples, crackers. If you like Bueu's this one is not to miss.
