The recipe for this soft yellow cheese, whose name simply means Farmer's Cheese, originated in Sweden. Our version, true to the Stromwall Brothers original, is made in the USA by Noon Hour Food Products of Chicago, Illinois. It has a has a semi-soft texture similar to Havarti but without the holes. A mild tasting cheese, it can be served as an appetizer or simply for snacking. Available plain or flavored with caraway.

Brings back Christmas Eve memories
Bondost was an essential part of the Christmas Eve Smorgasbord my mother served each year. I now live in a city where it is rare to find Swedish foods. I am so happy I can purchase fresh, delicious Bondost online and give my son a glimpse of a Swedish Christmas.

Huge disappointment
Not the Bond-ost I am familiar with. This was almost the quivalent of Velveta cheese with caraway seeds added. Huge disappointment. Will not order again.

Not as usta be
I am sorry to say I have been eating this for 55 years and Bondost is not what it was. It is now soft and pastey. It used to be able to be sliced very nicely and those of you who know what that means will understand. I think the bondost of today is made to fast.

My family always has this on our traditional Christmas Eve Swedish smorgasbord! It wouldn't be Christmas without it! It makes an awesome grilled ham and cheese sandwich! So glad to be able to buy it in the States.
