Camembert La Petite Reine is a handmade Camembert from a small dairy in Normandy (the same dairy that makes Camembert Bocage), the specific AOC region for this famous French cheese. In fact, cheeses named Camembert that hail from outside of Normandy are technically misusing the name. The sign of a premium quality Camembert, this one has a "core" that is firmer in texture than the creamy paste closer to the rind. As it matures, the interior becomes more ooey-gooey and runny at room temperature. Made from premium quality, lightly pasteurized milk, this spectacular cheese was previously unavailable in the U.S. In fact, it is the best Camembert you can get in America today.

  • Made from lightly pasteurized milk.
  • Photo depicts whole 8.8 oz. form of cheese.

creme de la creme
Having lived on the French border for six years we became very spoiled. This is a little bit from home for us. Not anything like the plastic grocery store Brie Americans seem to favor. This is lovely, warm, comforting, soothing. We smile even looking at it sitting in its special plate on our table. And, it fits into our "portion control" diet so we don't have to give up what we really love. Just ordered more. Love the hot weather packing. Many places won't ship cheese in warm weather. They have lost our business as you have gained it!

Petite reine,
Good product but a little bit low in taste, I tried the chatelain in the same time which is better and more tasty/creamy, if this one is a small Queen the other one is a great King.

Camembert
The camembert was served to my French students. I wanted them to experience the real thing. However, it was quite strong. I don't know if it was overly ripe or what. But, they didn't like it. They loved the Brie.

MMMMMMMMMMMM
So wonderful...really earthy, buttery and rich. The rind even has a slight hint of roasted onion??? Delicious !!!!!

The epitome of Camembert
Not too runny, not too solid, a touch of the typical Camembert flavor that is not overpowering or obtrusive but which makes its presence known. An 8 oz wheel vanished in two sessions!

Magnifique
