Born centuries ago in Normandy, one of France's most fertile regions, authentic Camembert is still exclusively produced there. The Norman dairy farms, covered with delicious grass for cows to graze upon, are peppered with apple trees that protect the rich soil. In fact, some people claim to be able to taste a hint of apple beneath the creamy suppleness of fresh Camembert. A similar cheese to brie, Camembert is formed into smaller wheels and may have a slightly more robust flavor than its larger cousin. Firm when chilled or runny at room temperature, there are many ways to enjoy this wonderful cheese-- with bread, fruit, or nuts. Best when eaten at room temperature.

An excellent Camembert!
I've ordered this cheese twice, and both times it's been gone by the day after it arrived! I keep slicing off more of this camembert, even after I've had way too much... For the price, this is an excellent cheese. Take note of the instructions and let it warm to room temperature, and you'll be even happier with it; the flavor does really come out when it's soft and slightly runny after warming up a bit.

not real but good
a camembert is supposed to come, like it says in the description, from the Normandy region, north west side of France. This comes from the Franche Comte region, which is in the center east of France. That being said, it is still very good. When we received our order, the cheese was obviously past its expiration date, even I being french wouldn't eat it. we contacted Igourmet and they sent us a replacement right away. This one was great! Thank you for the customer service.
