Italian rice cultivation is concentrated in certain areas of the country, although it is consumed in various dishes throughout the Italy. Carnaroli, considered one of the best Italian rices, is grown in the Piedmont region. Its excellent cooking qualities make it ideal for preparing risottos of the finest quality. Although less well known in the U.S. than Arborio rice, Carnaroli is actually more highly valued by Italian chefs. Try it in place of Arborio the next time you make risotto. Best Rice for Paella!
I order these six at a time to make my paellas throughout the year. There is a difference. Easy to get a good socarrat on the bottom of the pan.

Carnaroli Rice
I used Arborio rice for years until I tried Carnaroli Rice, and now there is no going back! What a wonderful creamy risotto this rice makes. Used it in a Cuban dish because I had run out of regular rice, and now that is what I will use for my Arroz con Pollo! Thank you igourmet for carrying Carnaroli Rice.

Best for Risotto
I used Arborio rice for years when making risotto, and then tried the Carnaroli. Carnaroli is now all I'll use. It seems to take a few minutes longer, but the result is worth it. As an added bonus for my husband (who has to watch his blood sugar), it doesn't seem to cause the blood sugar spike that other kinds of rice do.

The Best From the Best

carnaroli Rice
Great product. Easier to use than risoto because you do not have to sit and stir for 20 min. Just cook like regular rice.

My New Favorite Risotto Rice
I usually purchase another brand of arborio rice and love it, but this one is my new favorite. It is so rich and creamy and truly is as the description says "The Caviar of Rice." I will buy this again and again!

Great Product, Great Service!
After procrastinating for a long while, we decided to take the plunge and learn how to make risotto. We asked igourmet to RUSH us a 1 kg. bag of carnaroli rice, and actually received it a day early! The rice cooked up to the most wonderful texture -- I have no idea why I waited so long to try it! My 1 kg. bag is now gone after one week, and it's time for more. Bravo!

There is a Difference
My husband loves risotto in restaurants. I tried and tried to duplicate the texture of the chefs risottos with grocery store arborio rice. My husband LOVES this pricey Italian grown rice. The end result of any recipes using this rice is superb. Creamy and just right in texture. The pricing of this rice is the best I was able to find. Ordering and shipping has been very easy and convenient. Last order I bought three bags since the shipping cost was the same as if I ordered 2 bags. What a deal!
