The Vermont Creamery story begins with this mild goat's milk cheese. It was on a farm in Brittany where young Allison Hooper, working for room and board, learned the time-honored traditions of European artisanal cheesemaking. Working as a dairy lab technician in Vermont a few years later, she produced a chèvre for a banquet organized by Bob Reese, then marketing director of the state agriculture department. Chèvre was still largely unavailable in Vermont at the time - but not for much longer. Inspired by the response to her chèvre, Allison teamed up with Bob to found Vermont Creamery

Since then, Vermont Chèvre has earned an honored place among chefs and consumers alike. Distinguished by a simple, mild, fresh goat's milk flavor, the cheese is highly versatile - an excellent ingredient in many dishes as well as on its own. While chèvre continues to grow in popularity, Vermont Chèvre maintains its reputation for quality through superlative taste, freshness, and lower salt.

  • Made from pasteurized goat's milk.
  • Photo depicts whole 4 oz. form of cheese.
  • Suitable for vegetarians.

Tasty Cheese
Really moist and flavorful, even if eaten plain. Extra tasty with a little bit of raspberry fruit spread.

Top rated goat cheese by Cook's Illustrated!
This is such a delicious, flavorful, creamy goat cheese! I loved it so much! This prompted my first igourmet order because I read about the cheese in Cook's Illustrated and really wanted to try it. I am so glad that I found both this cheese and igourmet.com! I actually never was a huge fan of goat cheese before, but needed some for a special sandwich I was making, and I just loved this including plain.... So perfect!!!

OK, but nothing special
This seemed to be a bit dry, so assume that the one I got just wasn't as fresh. Dry and not as creamy as I would have liked. Pass.

Great Product
My mother is allergic to regular milk and has a hard time finding goats milk products. She was finally able to make macaroni and cheese and enjoy it without taking Lactaid ....

Truly fine chevre.
Creamy with just the right chevre tang. At the price, not an ideal candidate for my cooking (all indications it would be a great ingredient, holding up well to heat) but wonderful to taste all alone.

Best of the Best
This is the best chevre I've had. Creamy but not too rich; tangy but not too sour. LOVE it melted on a burger or just straight of the pack.

Best Chevre I've had
I have tried many different goat cheeses, and with the exception of a small-batch local goat cheese, this is the best ever. Creamy but not too rich, tangy but not sour, melty but not stringy. Excellent cheese for crackers or anything else. I order multiples and hide them from my teen-aged daughter and her friends -- they love it, too!

Rave reviews
I ordered this for some friends as part of the Hiking in Provence gift set. They raved about this cheese. The connoiseurs even hid it from the less-than-discerning-palettes so it would be the most appreciated. While I didn't get to try it myself I can safely say that it comes highly recommended. Bon Appetit.

Great Taste and Excellent Value
Loved this cheese. It is just a great all around cheese. Very flavorful. Try it with some Vidalia Onion Jelly!

This is a great American-made cheese. The flavor is mild and not so "gamey" tasting. This specific goat cheese is a hard to find delight and I was thrilled to find it [...]!
