Country Castle Limburger
Myron Olson has been crafting cheese for over 30 years and is the manager of Chalet, the only cheese factory in the United States still producing Limburger cheese. He is a Wisconsin Master Cheesemaker, certified first in Limburger. "There are still plenty of people who appreciate a full-flavored cheese," he says. Myron's Limbuger is a semi-soft cheese with origins from Belgium. Limburger is a pungent smelling, surface-ripened cheese that pairs well with hearty rye breads and even a slice of onion.
Made from pasteurized cow's milk.

Momma Likes it and I was willing to try......
The website, packaging and delivery of my order were all excellent. I had never tried Limburger cheese before, but my Mom wanted some and it is not sold around here anywhere. When it came in, I opened the box and the funk hit me full force. I am an adventurous type, so decided to let the cheese come to room temp before removing the last bit of protection which is the wrapping on this slab-o-stink. I put a quarter size smear on a club cracker, lifted it up, gagged, pinched my nose, and bit it. I should have never released the nose pinch. I could not hang with the odor that emanates off this stuff. My dear mom loves it. I made an appointment for her with the Ear, Nose and throat doctor.

Quite good for a domestic Limburger
Unfortunately, you just can't get an authentic Limburger in the US because of the idiotic FDA regulations around cheese made with unpasteurized milk. But, it is nicely pungent, and if you let it ripen completely, quite delicious.

THE BEST
From start to end everything was excellent. Customer service was excellent. (I needed help!)The cheese itself was a gift and was GREATLY appreciated. I couldn't write a review until the cheese was actually tasted. SURVEY SAYS DING DING DING 100 POINTS!!!!! I will definitely buy other items from IGORMET!!!!!

It lived up to the hype
I tried the cheese multiple ways and just cannot get past the smell and taste. I could swallow it but it just was not my cup of tea. I always thought of myself as a very adventurous eater but this was too much.

Excellent Limburger
Better then any Limburger I've bought in any store. Better than any Limberger I've bought from Germany.
