Midnight Moon is a new cheese created by Cypress Grove Chevre of Arcata, California. It's a goat's milk cheese that is aged for at least one year. Midnight Moon has a warm, nutty flavor with hints of caramel. This cheese won the NASFT award for "Outstanding New Product" in 2002. Encased in black wax, it makes quite a presentation and is an excellent choice if you are entertaining.

Outstanding Cheese
Very well balanced flavor. A distinct chevre flavor accentuated by flavor bursts from small (slightly gritty/crunchy)"protein crystals" (not salt) formed during aging, with a mellow nutty finish. The overall texture is smooth, moderately firm and slightly elastic, somewhat similar to Gouda.

Smooth and nutty
This is a delicious cheese. I will surely buy more of this in the future. It lives up to its description. Goes well with Ryvita sesame rye crackers

AMAZING Cheese!
We just discovered this cheese in a little olive oil shop on Anna Maria Island, FL. FABULOUS! It has a similarity to Reggiano Parmesan in it's nuttiness with a bit of a gritty tooth...but it's SO SMOOTH! LOVED IT! I will buy it again!...and again, and again, and again....

A Wonderful Cheese
The Midnight Moon was a big hit with everyone. It is smooth and flavorful. A great cheese with fruit or on a cracker.

As good as the first time
My husband and I first had this cheese out in San Francisco and I loved it then and the 2nd time didn't disappoint. It has a great sharp initial goat cheese bite, but then the follow up is smooth and creamy. Smells heavenly too. Highly recommend.

i tasted cypress grove midnight moon on a wine tour following a Napa-to-Sonoma half marathon. for taste, it's one of the best (non-grassy) goat cheeses out there! ...[]

Wonderful Cheese
Wonderful cheese. I tasted it at a local farmers market and I hoped I could find it besides there. TADA! Wonderful texture, pleasing taste. Sharp and creamy yet does not crumble when sliced. I would highly recommend this cheese!
