This Moulard duck leg is seasoned and slowly cooked in duck fat. Enjoy cold or heated up - just reheat on the grill or in the oven. Very flavorful, it is perfect as a centerpiece to an hors d'oeuvre presentation or as part of a main course. Great for Cassoulet. Package contains one leg.

They Describe it perfectly
We enjoyed this last night after a long discussion of how we should prepare it. Pan roasted for a moment then placed in a hot oven to crisp the skin. I think this would be an impressive item to serve for a small party as everyone would be asking for the recipe. I am glad we bought 2!

delicious!
I purchase the duck leg confit for our valentines dinner. I didn't know what to expect. We were really surprised of the quality of the meat. We are French and duck leg confit is a french favourite dish. This product reaches the french standard. Delivery was fast and packaging was perfect. The ice pack was still cold when the parcel got delivered.

a little dry but worked
I was looking for duck and wanted the fat with it; it seemed dry. I was using duck on a special recipe for a thanksgiving pizza and the duck component was supposed to add the oil needed in cooking the pizza (cranberries, ricotta, pumpkin puree, pumpkin seeds, and the duck....delicious!)

Not The BEST Available on the Net
These legs are a little skimpy compared to other gourmet purveyor's offerings on the net. They also are very thinly coated with duck fat whereas others offered have enough to easily cook and flavor the leg without sticking. This is a big issue because you should not have to add another kind of fat to cook them; it changes the taste. The flavor was fair - meaning it tasted like a decent quality duck and the seasonings were not overpowering or listless. The texture was a little dry (for duck leg confit).

A Kitchen Must!
If you've ever made duck confit from scratch, you'll understand when I say this product is a godsend. Eat it cold, warm it up in the oven, or heat slowly on the stove with your favorite sauerkraut or cabbage recipe. Delicious and well worth the price!

Good Quality Confit
It should ship with more of the duck fat. There was not enough fat to reheat the confit properly.
