Fabrique Délices has introduced its new shelf-stable Cassoulet to rousing success. Cassoulet originated in the southwest of France (Toulouse, Carcassonne, Castelnaudary). The main ingredient is always white beans to which are added a variety of different meats, according to the region. This one combining tasty pork and duck sausage, as well as duck confit is similar to the classic cassoulets of Toulouse. Just heat and serve. Presented in an old-fashioned glass jar. This is enough for two entrees or four appetizers. Bon appetit!
  • Made in Canada to exact French specifications.

It's
My husband and I eat a lot of cassoulet--it's one of our favorite meals. I bought two jars of this brand, and neither one of us wants to eat the second one. For us, it does not even come close to what we'd get in a restaurant or make at home (although it's much easier!). I thought it was very salty and didn't have the same rich flavor I've grown accustomed to with the real thing. Given its cost, I think it should be better. Also, bone shards were an issue, as others have noted.

French Cassoulet
I just returned from the South of France and tasted lots of cassoulets. I love it and would like to make it but it is labor intensive! I ordered this because it seemed to have good reviews. It is good but not like the real deal. We did enjoy it!

Cassoulet
The duck tasted delicious. Although it says it has 5 servings it is more like 2. The bones in the duck confit were shattered which caused my wife and I to find bone splinters throughout the meal. The sausage, beans and gravy were also very good. I'll try it again to see if we just got a bad jar.

Absolutely fair
I hate to review this product so favorabley for fear it may run out. After our home on Martha's Vineyard Mass burned to the growned 15 plus years ago we had a house in the Dordogne for 8 years. This Cassoulet is the equal of most we bought in the farmer's markets in Brantom (famous for its Cassoulets) near which we lived.
