Just below the Arctic Circle where winter nights are endless, a master Swedish Dairyman created the perfect cheese for children and adults alike - Graddost. Today it's made across Scandinavia, with our variety hailing from Denmark. It's a one pound cylinder with a satiny ivory body and evenly distributed holes. Cave cured and bathed in pure glacial water, this delicacy's singular flavor is born from the extra rich milk of pampered cows. It is a very creamy cheese that practically melts in your mouth. Perfect as either an appetizer or dessert, Graddost will become a family favorite in no time.
  • Made from pasteurized cow's milk.
  • Photo depicts whole 14 oz. form of cheese.

The Best Swede IMO
Not all brands of Gradost are created equal. This one comes from Denmark. I sure wish igourmet would sell a Swedish produced Gradost. The best ones come in smaller rounds and are very soft but not spreadable. They practically turn to cream in your mouth. Very good with the Wasa rosemary crispbread, as this, as most Swedish cheeses are very mild and would never be mistaken for extra sharp Cheddar. The flavored wasa compliments them nicely. My mother has sent me practically every type of Swedish cheese over the years, I am happiest with Gradost, Farmers cheese next(for all purpose), Vasterbotten is also good, but Gradost is tops.

Simply amazing
This cheese is simply amazing. I ordered it along with 3 other kinds of cheese and this one leads the whole pack. The flavor is incredibly rich but not overwhelming. It paired with fruit, different textures of bread, coffee, beer, wine...everything. It's incredibly versatile and definitely didn't last long. This is something I'm going to be ordering quite often.

Unpronounceable, Irresistible!
This is a beautiful, beautifully packaged cheese. It's very mild, yet distinctive and flavorful.

Excellent cheese
I wanted a semi-soft cheese that would pair well with fruit and this cheese is perfect. I prepared small tarts with fresh, ripe pears, topped with this cheese and a drizzle of a very syrupy balsamic vinegar. The flavors melded beautifully and the cheese melted into a buttery, creamy topping that was exactly what I wanted.

Creamy Good
As the description says, this cheese is very creamy. Has a good flavor and tasted great melted on sandwiches.

Nothing to get excited about
Very delicate in flavor, I found this cheese to be at it's best as an after dinner cheese, served with artisan breads, fruit and sherry. I did try one experiment with it that turned out amazingly well, I used it to make a horseradish and cheese sauce; the delicate and creamy flavor was perfect with the sharpness of the horseradish! I will do that again!

Excellent cheese.
This cheese is excellent and it is true, this cheese does melt in your mouth. I loved eating this cheese with crackers and would definitely buy it again.

Not what I expected.
I have been looking for Graddost cheese for 30 years - ever since my dad used to bring it back from Sweden on business trips. This is not really Graddost - hence the "Graddost like" description. The label that comes on the cheese says Danish Havarti - so what I thought I was ordering was not Swedish cheese at all but Danish cheese. That said, the cheese is flavorful and tastes good. It is just not real Graddost. How disappointing.
