Grass Fed Beef
I've been cooking grassfed beef for years now, as my former neighbor was a farmer and we could just load up the deep freeze with a cow share from him. Now that we up and moved across the country, I have to go online. This was one of the better grass-fed prime ribs I've had. BUT! If you cook grass fed, it needs to be on the rare-medium rare side. Grass fed has less fat, and needs to be treated differently than grocery story roasts. But if you want a super fatty roast, why are you even looking at grass fed? Plus, I like that this beef isn't given soy, so you're not consuming a bunch of Phytoestrogens from soy-fed cattle.

Not worth the price
I was very disappointed with this prime rib. It was only 4.5 lbs and for the price should have been at least th 5 lbs shown. I did not think the meat tasted any better than non-grass fed. It had so little fat that it had less taste. I actually purchased another prime rib from the grocery because this one was too small and made both. The prime rib from the grocery had much more flavor.

Delivery Problems but Good Meat
I had ordered this prime rib as a gift for my parents and selected a specific delivery date. On the day it was to be delivered I contacted iGourmet to get tracking information. I was informed that there was a problem with the delivery but that a new package was being sent that day, I was to receive the tracking information the following day, and the item would be delivered in two more days. Basically, my initial ordered was ignored/never shipped. It wasn't until I called that the "oops" was caught. I didn't receive tracking information on the "second" shipment until two days later. With my luck there was a huge snowstorm the day before the "second" shipment was to be delivered, so the UPS truck couldn't get to my parents house. However, the driver called my folks and said he'd keep the perishable item in his own refrigerator until the roads were clear and he could get through. Snow happens. It wouldn't have been a problem had my initial order been processed appropriately. Anyhow, the meat finally arrived and was thawed (refrigerated) so had to be eaten right away. It was an excellent piece of meat. I don't know where the breakdown occurred. Either my order didn't get from iGourmet to the seller of the meat or the seller of the meat dropped the ball. Either way my order was messed up. I was offered an apology but no savings on shipping, etc.
