Gres Des Vosges
This traditional soft-ripened, washed rind cheese is a true farmhouse delight. Gres des Vosges is carefully matured for at least 3 weeks in humid cellars, located in the vineyards of the Alsace region. Each cheese is hand-packed in oval cardboard trays and decorated with a fern leaf. Made with pastuerized cow's milk, Gres Des Vosges has a full flavor and luscious texture. You wouldn't believe that such a small cheese could have such a powerful aroma! Sure to become a new favorite of washed-rind cheese lovers everywhere.
Made from pasteurized's cow's milk.

Good but not outstanding
Liked it OK but did not think that it had that much aroma. Might buy again when it goes on sale but would not pay full price for it because it just wasn't as flavorful as I imagined.

Creamy
Arrived at a perfect temperature (warm) to allow it to be eaten right away. It was placed inside of a closed plastic container which locked in some of the ammonia but dissipated quickly. Great appearance with the fern leave and a wonderful classic washed rind aroma and flavor.

Stinky - best used in less than 7 days
Unfortunately I could not use the cheese since it went bad in less than a week. It smelled horrible and so was unable to taste it. Very disappointed since it received a good write up. I'll have to try it another time when I know I can consume it quickly.

An excellent cheese for Connoisseurs!
This is for cheese lovers, having some experience with great cheese with equally great wines. Should be part of a nice meal (after main course), and followed by fresh fruits. Enjoy!
