The Welsh are continuing to create new and exciting cheeses, showing the world that there is more to them than the simply delicious Caerphilly. Harlech is a zesty, smooth cheese named after Harlech Castle in Northern Wales. They chose one of their most picturesque treasures to name this hardy cheese. Built in the 13th century, Harlech Castle sits atop a cliff, keeping a watchful eye over the sea and Snowdonia, the land below. Harlech is a mature cheddar blended with horseradish and parsley. This vegetarian cheese is perfect as a table cheese to add a contrast to any cheese course , paired with a beer or a Rioja, and adds a new piquancy to cheese based dishes.

Creamy, flavorful, well balanced!
This was a fantastic surprise. I like horseradish, but was a little nervous that this cheese would overpower with the pungency/astringency. It did not! The flavor of the horseradish shone through, without any of the burning that horseradish can give. I was amazed at the almost spreadable consistency. An absolute delight!

OMG
LOVED it, it is one of the best cheese I have tasted. My three favorite cheese comes from Wales. Harlech, Tintern & Red Dragon are the best. But I will have a hard time hiding them from my friends.
