Lappi is so named because its recipe was developed in the Lapland region of Finland. It is similar to swiss cheese, but with smaller holes and a slightly firmer texture. It is also less nutty and sweeter than your average swiss cheese. Lappi is a favorite among children because of its mild nature and sweet taste. It is a classic melting cheese and can be substituted into your favorite Fondue recipe.

Versatile cheese
I use this cheese instead of cheddar because it's lower in fat content, but still has good flavor. It's my all-time favorite. And the quick shipping from east to west coast is amazing!!! One thing I have noticed is that the whole brick is described as being 6 pounds, but it usually comes closer to being 5 pounds. I only mention that so that no one is led to believe something that's not entirely accurate. I'll still keep buying it!

received cheese with different flavors from the one I use to know well
Not good. Received the cheese named "Lappi". It was different cheese with different flavors then the Lappi cheese I'm buying for over 20 years

Great cheese...great find!
I've been buying this cheese locally for years, but can't get it that way anymore. I was thrilled to discover Igourmet!!! What's incredible is that it came to my door, on ice, and cost a little bit less per pound than when I used to buy it in the supermarket! Thanks, Igourmet!
