Les Trois Petits Cochons started in 1975 as a small charcuterie in the heart of New York's Greenwich Village, where founders Alain Sinturel and Jean Pierre Pradié cooked and offered pâtés and other French specialties to the neighborhood gourmets. They soon received rave reviews by such notables as Craig Clairborne, Mimi Sheraton, James Beard, and others. Once word got out, they began making pâtés for other restaurants around Manhattan. By 1990, demand forced them to expand their operation. Today, they make their pâtés in their kitchen, House of Bricks, located in Wilkes Barre, PA. Les Trois Petits Cochons is recognized for its excellence as a leader in the specialty food business and industry it helped to create. They use all-natural, high quality ingredients, and craft small, handmade batches.
  • Paté de Campagne is the traditional paté of France. Coarsely ground pork meat and pork liver are spiced with onions, garlic, parsley, bay leaves and thyme. The mixture is then slowly cooked in the traditional way. The result: a culinary delight.
  • Paté au Poivre Noir is a spicy country style paté sprinkled with black peppercorns and flavored with a touch of brandy.

Poivre Noir
Excellent example of American made pate in the French style. Contains the right amount of cracked pepper and ithas the right 'mouth-feel'. Altogether a most pleasing pate for a pretty reasonable price.

amazing goodies
I have been buying Pate de Campagne for many years at a local store....then they closed. I went online and discovered igourmet.com and found our beloved pate again. They shipped it right away and it was here when they said it would be. Thank you igourmet.com for helping us continue to enjoy one of our favorite indulgences.

Pate is Great - Vacuum Sealing Not So Much
I ordered both types. The Pate de Campagne arrived as expected - tightly sealed and when opened it was delicious and exactly what I was looking for. The Pate au Poivre Noir (take one) arrived but the vacuum seal was loose and the product was "floating around" within the plastic. I contacted Customer Service and they graciously replaced the product immediately - no questions asked. The second one arrived and it again was not tightly sealed in the packaging - it was better than the first packaging but not as expected. I did not contact Customer Service this time and I will likely not order either again only because 2 out of 3 products in this category had unsatisfactory packaging. The outer packaging and shipping container are however Awesome.

Rustic & delicious
I like to order this for special occasions for snacking with company. Goes well with crispy baguette or cracker. Fruit. white or red wine.

These 3 Little Pigs are welcome in my house anytime!
What a delight to taste the gelee and authentic rustic pork pate I recall from my childhood. I only wish it came in larger portions to reduce the amount of recycling of its plastic tubs. This pate pairs well with crudites, especially endive which lets the delicious pate's taste shine. If I were to serve it on a starch, I would choose only the plainest unseasoned cracker or plain sourdough bread and serve pickles alongside. Perfect to include in a charcuterie platter.

sublime
I am always so grateful to be able to send to igourmet for their peppercorn pate; it's not only sublimely delicious, it is elegant and keeps me feeling civilized......to whatever extent humans are capable of such. 5 stars to you!!!
