Packed as two discs in a jet-black box, these fresh goat cheeses have the packaging of a haut couture design firm, but one taste reveals their true farmstead origins. Los Balanchares Queso de Cabra is a small production in the Andalucia Region of Spain. In the beautiful village of Zuheros, south of Córdoba's province, is located the cheese making creamery "Quesería de la Sierra Subbética". Since 1995 they have produced an exquisite and wide range of traditional Spanish goat's milk cheeses. All of their cheeses start with the same exquisite milk, which helps to guarantee the final taste of the chevre.
The animals graze freely, eating wild greens on the pastures and enjoying a natural life in tune with the environment.
The traditional recipes and elegant, handcrafted nature of the cheeses maintain a close bond to the land and animals. When you try these fresh goat cheeses, you can imagine they are very similar to the cheeses local people enjoyed in times past. Fresh and creamy, these cheeses are perfect for serving as a first course with a splash of olive oil or at the end of a meal with a drizzle of honey. With a smooth flavor and slightly goaty finish, these elegant cheeses are perfect to serve with a glass of crisp chenin blanc.
