A rustic cheese with a distinctive, intense flavor, Los Cameros is named after the Cameros mountain range in La Rioja, Spain. The cheese factory of Lácteos Martinez S.L. aims to ensure the traditional cheese production of Los Cameros cheese, which dates back from as early as the 11th century. This is their "red label" cheese, which distinguishes itself by being made of a blend of cow, sheep, and goat's milk. Particular care is taken with each seven-pound wheel during the six months of cellar curing. Its natural rind is formed with a cotton cloth wrapping, while three olive oil baths maintain its artisan image.
This is a cheese with a slightly strong, authentic taste. Like a good Manchego or Iberico, it has a refined aroma, straw-yellow color and with a firm texture with small, well-distributed eyes. Enjoy this cheese with quince paste, olives, cured ham, or a selection of fresh, seasonal fruits.
