Almost extinct, only a handful of dairies in Norway still make Nokkelost. This Norwegian specialty cheese, made from partially skimmed cow's milk, is flavored with cumin seeds and cloves. These herbal additions give Nokkelost a warm, spicy taste. Similar in concept to Dutch Leyden, although with a springier texture, Nokkelost is a festive cheese that is always a hit at parties. It partners very well with beer and wine, especially when served with dark breads, such as pumpernickel.

Welcome back: from Norway to Wisconsin
This cheese is absolutely delicious...cumin and cloves! We were able to purchase it many years ago at a cheese shop in Milwaukee, WI, but have not found Nokkelost since we moved to Northern WI. Gave your info to the cheese shop in Minocqua and hope they'll contact you. Very tasty with apple slices.

Great Cheese!
Product arrived in excellant condition and was packed in a cooler in which the ice pack was still frozen keeping the cheese cool. The cheese tasted like it just came from the local store in Vanse Norway! The price was high but the taste made it worthwhile.

i am an old customer of this delicious cheese. I enjoy the cloves and cumin. I only wish that it could be bought in one pound packaging as it is difficult to slice when one gets to the end of the 8 oz pkgel

Great cheese and excellent service
This cheese is hard to find and is really wonderful. It was delivered quickly and with cold packs in an insulated container. I would have given it a 5, except that it was soooo expensive for 2 small pieces.
